WELCOME TO
CLEVELAND THORNLANDS CRICKET CLUB

Home of The Cougars
OUR HISTORY
Cleveland Thornlands Cricket Club formed with the amalgamation of Cleveland Cricket Club and Thornlands Cricket club in 1975.  Games were played at the Cleveland Show Grounds at Long St Cleveland, this was a shared venue. The first games played at our current home grounds at Henry Ziegenfusz Park were in the season of 1983-1984 on a synthetic wicket, and with the club growing the 2nd synthetic wicket was completed in 1990. The current Cleveland Thornlands Cricket Club House at Henry Ziegenfusz Park was opened in 1994-1995 and the 3rd field with a synthetic wicket was opened soon after this date.
In 2008 the synthetic wicket on Field 2 was removed and we installed a 5-wicket turf block. This upgrade to a turf wicket was done to provide the facilities for our members to be able to play cricket at a higher standard and to have continuity between our junior and senior sides, while allowing them to play at our home venue.  Through the hard work of our members and volunteers this facility is known across Brisbane as having some of the best facilities for a local cricket club.
